PROJECT: The Georgian House
LOCATION: Cheltenham

Light, Space, Craft: A Townhouse Transformation

A developer client acquired a five-storey Grade II* listed Georgian townhouse in Cheltenham that had suffered decades of neglect, having been subdivided into apartments for over 50 years. The building was in a severely dilapidated condition.

From Neglect to Nine Luxurious Georgian Apartments

The brief was to reconfigure the internal layout and transform the property into nine high-quality apartments.

By enhancing both value and desirability, the scheme unlocked the investment needed to fund extensive restoration and repair works.

Heritage Restored.

Key to the project was the reinstatement of the building’s original character. Later interventions, such as dropped ceilings and partition walls, were removed to reveal original cornices and restore full-width living spaces.

The central staircase and skylight were also carefully refurbished, bringing natural light back into the heart of the building.
